Courageous performance, bitter result: Viktoria loses to Turbine Potsdam

Despite strong support, it wasn't enough in the end—we lost 0–2 in the last home game of the first half of the season.

A game that deserved more: Viktoria put in a committed performance against Turbine Potsdam, but ultimately came away empty-handed.

Strong start, cold shower

Our Viktoria got off to a really good start. With early pressing, high intensity, and a clear presence, Himmelblau dominated the opening minutes and put Potsdam under pressure. But in the middle of this strong phase, there was a setback: in the 12th minute, the ball unexpectedly slipped through the center to Risa Yamada, who only had to tap it in front of the goal – 0-1.

Viktoria kept at it, continued to look for ways forward and didn't let the goal deter them. This made the second goal shortly before half-time all the more bitter: after a pass from the left, Annika Wohner shot directly and curled the ball into the top left corner (45+1). A real dream goal – and at the worst possible time.

Balanced second half

After the break, the game developed into one with alternating periods of pressure. Both teams pushed forward, but without really creating any compelling scoring opportunities. Viktoria made substitutions, brought on fresh players, and tried to increase the tempo once again.

And even in the final stages, our team gave it their all, fought for every ball and sought to get back into the game – but unfortunately were unable to reward themselves for their efforts. In the end, the score remained 0-2.

Conclusion

A defeat that feels tough. FC Viktoria put in a strong, courageous performance for long periods and made the game open at times. This time, the hosts were more efficient.

The performance was good—the next step is to reward ourselves for it. After our last home game of the first half of the season, we remain in 6th place in the table.

To conclude the soccer season, FC Viktoria Berlin will travel to SG 99 Andernach on December 21. Viktoria wants to put on another united performance there and go into the winter break on a high note. Tickets for the match are available at the box office!
