FCV feiert Torfestival gegen FC Bayern München II

A grey November day - but Viktoria brought blue skies to the pitch: two braces and four debut goals secured a 7-0 (3-0) win against FC Bayern Munich II.

Both FCV and Munich started strongly, disrupting the opposition's defence early on and putting pressure on goalkeepers Michèle Tschudin and Sophie Klein. Pia Metzker broke into the Munich penalty area in the second minute, but the defence cleared the ball. At the other end, Elira Terakaj shot three metres wide of the goal in the fourth minute.

After fifteen minutes of intense back and forth, the game tilted slightly in favour of FC Bayern II. The visitors appeared more often in front of Viktoria's goal, forcing our defence around goalkeeper Tschudin to make clearances, which they did.

FCV gets going

At the other end of the pitch, the FCV players really delivered goals from the 25th minute onwards. Victoria Ezebinyuo missed the chance to make it 1-0, but shortly afterwards the moment arrived: Captain Nina Ehegötz played around goalkeeper Klein, leaving the way clear for Alisa Grincenco, who only had to slot into the empty net to make it 1-0 for Himmelblau (26'). Shortly afterwards, Anna Ursem made it 2-0 with a powerful shot from the right (32') - like almost all of the day's goalscorers, it was her first goal of the season.

That broke the spell, and Viktoria laid siege to the Munich goal, leaving the Munich players looking completely perplexed. Ehegötz (36') and Ezebinyuo (38') tested goalkeeper Klein, while Anna Höfker beat her again: She scored the 3-0 (44') from the scramble after a corner, after Ezebinyuo had hit the crossbar.

Double trouble with Viktoria

After the break, Viktoria picked up exactly where they had left off: with shots on goal. Ehegötz tested goalkeeper Klein with a great shot, but Klein saved the ball (47'). And then it was finally Victoria Ezebinyuo's moment: After a corner from the right taken by Sarah Stöckmann, our number 28 secured a header to make it 4-0 (54').

It was her first goal as well, and it wasn't to be her last. After an assist from Pia Metzker, Ezebinyuo pushed the ball over the line while falling (65'). FC Bayern Munich II looked tired and couldn't do anything to counter Viktoria's play.

And when things are going well, they go real well, and that also applies to braces. Substitute Sarah Abu Sabbah had only been on the pitch for ten minutes when she scored the sixth goal after Ezebinyuo's assist with a cheeky chip from the left post into the right corner (78'). Another ten minutes later, it was Laura Casanovas who provided the assist, and Abu Sabbah hammered the ball into the net (88'). 7-0 was the final score of an unbridled match – during which the sun even came out at one point.

Next home game in three weeks

Thanks to the three points, the first home win of the season, our Viktoria (perhaps Victoria today?) climbs past Munich to 10th place in the 2nd Bundesliga table. Next week, we travel to Frankfurt to face Eintracht's second team. The next home game is not until three weeks from now: on Sunday, 23rd November, when we welcome Borussia Mönchengladbach.
