Knipp joins FC Viktoria Berlin from top-flight side FC Carl Zeiss Jena, bringing extensive experience across multiple roles in football. As a player, she was part of the squad that secured promotion to the Bundesliga. She subsequently moved into sporting leadership, where she contributed to, among other achievements, another promotion as well as reaching the DFB Cup semi-finals.

With this combination of on-pitch experience and structural expertise, she is well positioned to further advance FC Viktoria Berlin’s strategic direction. Her focus will be on the sustainable development of the sporting department and the implementation of a clear long-term vision. Isabelle Knipp succeeds Catharina Schimpf, who has built and shaped the club’s sporting department over the past two years.

Felicia Mutterer, Managing Director of FC Viktoria Berlin, says: "Isabelle Knipp knows what it takes to achieve promotion – both as a player and as a Sporting Director. Having successfully accomplished this mission in both roles makes her the ideal appointment for our ambitions of reaching the first Bundesliga. We are proud that Isabelle has chosen FC Viktoria Berlin."

Isabelle Knipp also shares her perspective on her new role: "For me, this step to Viktoria is something special. The club stands for development and the courage to take new paths – that is exactly what excites me. At the same time, I bring clear ideas and the ambition to sustainably develop the women’s programme and achieve sporting success. I am looking forward to starting this journey together with the team and the entire environment very soon."

This sounds like an exciting new chapter for FC Viktoria Berlin. Isabelle Knipp’s experience both on and off the pitch seems like a great fit for the club’s long-term ambitions. After reading sports news like this, I often play World Guesser which is a geography game where you explore locations around the world and guess where they are using landmarks and visual clues.
