Scored 3 Goals In Just 7 minutes During The Victory Over Leipzig II

Viktoria kicked off the English week with a clear 5:1 victory against RB Leipzig's U20s.

After a narrow 1-0 win in the first leg in Leipzig, the game in Lichterfelde Stadium quickly took a much clearer turn: after just over a quarter of an hour, Viktoria was already 3-0 up. The goal scorers were Aylin Yaren (10’), Corinna Statz with a stunning goal (14’), and Louise Trapp (17’). They had an easy time, as Leipzig’s defence left far too many gaps. With Statz's lob from over thirty meters, RB goalkeeper Eve Böttcher was caught way too far off her line and couldn’t do anything to stop the ball from hitting the back of the net.

The match slowed down a bit, with many battles happening in the midfield. However, this didn’t last long, as another goal came after just another quarter-hour. Anna Höfker slotted the ball over the line from a scramble in front of the goal following a corner (32’). Yaren then secured her brace before halftime, after Kim Urbanek and Trapp both failed to score, she struck from outside the box to make it 5-0 (38’).

Leipzig was already beaten in the first half but still managed a few sporadic attacks. They did get a consolation goal through Emy Bührig, who converted a direct free kick just outside the box (45+1’), but that was about it.

For FC Viktoria, Statz and Yaren were especially strong in attack, and defender Carol Cázares also came close to scoring but only managed to hit the post (67’). The substitute, Mona Sarr, also stirred things up offensively – but the score remained 5-1.

This match was the start of a busy week for Viktoria: in seven days, they’ll play three home games. After the match against Leipzig, they’ll face Blau-Weiß Hohen-Neuendorf in the Berlin Cup semi-final on Wednesday, April 17th, and next Sunday, April 21st, we’re in for the derby against Hertha BSC.
