The shared journey continues: Miren Ćatović and Anouk Dekker stay on!

Head coach Miren Ćatović and assistant coach Anouk Dekker have extended their contracts. Together, they will continue to drive the development of our team next season and build on the path we’ve set out with clear conviction.
Miren Ćatović has been head coach of our team since January 2025. Since his arrival, he has had a clear positive impact on both the team and the club, consistently pushing our sporting development forward. He also played a key role in last summer’s promotion to the 2. Bundesliga.
„The past one and a half years have been a very good time for me. I received a very warm welcome from the very beginning, and working with the team on and off the pitch is something I really enjoy. Promotion to the 2. Bundesliga was, of course, a major highlight of my time so far", says head coach Miren Ćatović about his time at FC Viktoria Berlin.
Our sporting director Catharina Schimpf also highlights the importance of the collaboration: “With Miren, we are deliberately focusing on continuity and joint development. Together with his coaching staff, he has laid a strong foundation on which we can continue to build. Miren brings enormous professional quality and is also a great addition to our club on a personal level. He is an excellent fit with our values, and we have full confidence in the path we have taken.”
Looking ahead to the next steps, Miren remains highly motivated and convinced of the path ahead: "The professionalisation of structures at all levels has also brought new challenges, but that is exactly what has helped us move forward. You can see how everyone is developing – the players, the coaching staff, the HQ team – the entire club. We are growing into this together, and I am happy that we are continuing on this path towards the big goal of the 1. Bundesliga together.”
Alongside him, Anouk Dekker will also remain part of the team as assistant coach, continuing to play an important role in driving the team’s sporting development. Having led the team to promotion in the 2024/2025 season as captain, she has now been working from the sidelines for a year, continuing to bring her experience and perspective into her role as assistant coach.
"I came 2023 to FC Viktoria Berlin with a clear goal, first as a player and now as a co-trainer. That change in role doesn’t change my ambition to build something special here together. The club’s mission and vision mean a lot to me, and I really like what we’re building", says Anouk Dekker about her journey so far and the shared development within the club.
Catharina Schimpf underlines Anouk’s influence on the team: “We are very happy with the collaboration with Anouk in her first year as assistant coach. In a short period of time, she has managed to pass on her knowledge and experience to the players. She is a great asset to the team both on and off the pitch and a real enrichment for our club. We are looking forward to continuing this journey together with her and Miren and to supporting her in her further development as a coach.”
Looking ahead to the next steps, Anouk is also optimistic and full of energy: „In the past 1.5 years, we’ve taken good steps forward and are building towards something special. I’ve seen strong development in the team, and the players’ eagerness to improve gives me a lot of energy. I’m really happy about the trust the club has shown in our work and in the bigger vision. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey and taking the next steps together.“
