What Does Fair Pay Really Mean in the Start-up Business?

Our six founders at FC Viktoria Berlin have spun off the women’s team into a separate operating company. Through this, the entire sports team is paid.


A key question is: What is considered fair pay in the women’s Regionalliga, where previously no salaries were paid at all?

Fair Pay means paying employees fair and reasonable wages. The compensation should reflect the value of the work, i.e., the value of the contribution that employees bring to the company.

But what does that even mean? And who actually decides what’s fair?


Here’s where the problem often lies. The responsibility for determining what’s considered fair usually rests with the company itself. Founders and/or their management teams are generally responsible. But: Defining Fair Pay in a young company should consider several aspects.


Here are the key points:

#Legal Requirements – Naturally, a start-up must comply with minimum wage regulations. The current minimum wage in Germany is €12 per hour. Industry-specific minimum wages should also be taken into account. Companies that violate the minimum wage law face penalties and fines of up to €500,000. #External Fairness – Market research and salary comparisons can help determine what salaries are typical in similar companies. This serves asa benchmark to ensure that the pay is competitive and attracts qualified employees. Start-ups should regularly review their salary structures to remain attractive as an employer. #Internal Fairness – Wage equality should also exist within the start-up. Employees with similar skills, experience, and responsibilities should receive comparable salaries.


#Performance-based Pay – Compensation can also motivate and provide an incentive for good performance. Bonus systems, performance allowances, or stock options can reward employees for their contributions to the success of the start-up. #Feedback Culture – The company should gather feedback from employees to better understand their expectations and needs regarding compensation. #TransparencyFair Pay also means openness about the salary structure and the criteria used to determine salaries. Employees should know how salaries are set and which factors are considered.


Conclusion: Fair Pay is subjective and depends on a company’s values, goals, and financial situation. Companies should maintain open communication with their employees to foster understanding and promote wage fairness. Because fair compensation creates a positive work environment and attracts talented employees. Khi đang theo dõi các ý kiến trao đổi trên một diễn đàn, mình bắt gặp nhiều người nhắc đến o8 com nên tiện mở vào xem nhanh. Mình chủ yếu quan sát giao diện và cách sắp xếp các chuyên mục chứ chưa tìm hiểu sâu. Nhìn chung, bố cục được trình bày khá rõ ràng, giúp việc theo dõi thông tin trở nên thuận tiện hơn. Sau đó mình đóng lại và tiếp tục đọc những nội dung thảo luận đang xem trước đó.

Tối qua, khi theo dõi các cuộc trao đổi trên một diễn đàn, mình tình cờ thấy RR88 được nhắc đến trong một chủ đề thảo luận. Vì tò mò nên mình nhấp vào xem thử, chủ yếu để tìm hiểu cách họ trình bày và sắp xếp nội dung. Sau khi lướt qua một lượt, mình nhận thấy giao diện khá gọn gàng, bố cục rõ ràng và tạo cảm giác chuyên nghiệp. Xem xong, mình quay trở lại tiếp tục theo dõi cuộc thảo luận đang diễn ra.

Trong quá trình đọc các thảo luận, mình có để ý thấy RR88 được nhắc qua nên thử vào xem cho biết. Mình chỉ xem nhanh tổng thể chứ chưa tìm hiểu sâu, nhưng cảm giác ban đầu là cách trình bày khá thoáng, bố cục rõ ràng, nhìn vào không bị rối mắt.

JLBDT I saw it being shared online, so I decided to visit and see what the interface looked like. I only browsed through a few basic sections and have not explored it in depth yet. The site has a fairly intuitive layout, with clearly arranged categories that make it easy to follow. The top menu bar allows quick navigation between different sections. The design is minimalist, and the mobile experience is quite stable. Overall, it is easy to access and use.
